Taylor Swift, the rarest pop phenomenon is a star who was able to transcend over from country music to mainstream culture, and has become an icon of the pop culture. The singer also swept all over the world during the course of her journey. Swift left her country roots like they were a second skin, revealing she was arguably the smartest pop-oriented singer/songwriter of her time, someone who was able to harness the mood of the moment and personalize it and equally impressively do opposite. Swift's early hits, especially the neo tribute to Tim McGraw, showed off her skills. But her 2008 album Fearless showcased a writer who was discovering herself and finding a large audience. Fearless was successful not only in the United States, having six platinum-certified singles. In fact, the Top Ten songs Love Story and the hit song You Belong with Me were the primary reasons behind this. But, it also did very well across the globe. Swift's Speak Now album released two years ago was a continuation of her earlier successes, propelling her into superstardom. The singer's popularity increased through her subsequent three albums: Red (2012) 1989 (2014) and Reputation (2017). Swift had now established herself in an industry she felt was hers to be. It was not long before she changed her strategy by releasing 2020's streamlined Folklore (and Evermore) and stayed in the forefront of pop culture.
