Harry Edward Styles (also known as Harry Styles in the music world) is a British musician and a singer. Harry Styles was one among the founders of One Direction. He was born in Holmes Chapel, Cheshire, England on the 1st of February 1994. He's the son of Des Styles and Anne Cox. Harry Styles, a former student of the Holmes Chapel Comprehensive School formed a group called White Eskimo together with three of his fellow students. The band's outstanding performances enabled them to win in the Battle of Bands 2009. He always had an interest in music but also wanted to work as an attorney, physiotherapist or even a scout. He worked in an area bakery on a part-time basis in order to provide for his family. For the year 2010 Harry Styles presented audition for The X Factor where he performed the song Is not She Lovely by Stevie Wonder and was selected. For that reason his band had to separate. Following the audition on The X Factor the jury Nicole Scherzinger suggested that Harry Styles would be a part of the band to be named One Direction along with Liam Payne Zayn Malik Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson. Simon Cowell sponsored the young group in 2010. The group performed the Kelly Clarkson song My Life Would Be Sucky Without You and Bonnie Tyler's Total Eclipse of the Heart in the competition, which made them one of the leading contenders to win the contest. The group was placed in third position after Rebecca Ferguson and Matt Cardle which took home the prize. Even though Harry Styles and his group were not crowned winners, Cowell agreed to pay 2 million pounds for One Direction to sign with Syco. Syco Record label.
